Bloomington, Minn. — Aug. 27
Hundreds of leaders from organizations around the country are investing one hour a week to learn decision-making and critical thinking skills by enrolling in Critical Thinking University from Pearson TalentLens.
Through this online portal, participants advance through 18 interactive courses featuring real-world business scenarios that aim to teach problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills.
Participants learn to apply Pearson’s RED model (recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments and draw conclusions) to think critically. The real-world business scenarios featured in the courses aim to require them to recognize assumptions, distinguish fact from opinion, beware of persuasive techniques, recognize bias in themselves and others and, ultimately, develop as a strong decision maker and critical thinker.
A culminating activity requires learners to use the RED model and their new thinking skills to solve an online gaming challenge.
Providing participants with a personalized learning experience, Critical Thinking University aims to feature expert coaches who play an integral role in the process. Participants receive coaching and engage with others through social learning opportunities, including online forums, webinars and wikis.
In addition, all participants receive a free online download of the book Now You’re Thinking, Pearson’s primer on critical thinking. They also may join an online book club to discuss their thoughts as they read the story.
Pearson TalentLens has more than 80 years of experience in talent assessment and publishes many assessment and training programs used by companies to make hiring decisions and develop their workforce.
