Chief Learning Officer Magazine Announces 2014 LearningElite Finalists
Chicago, March 3, 2014 — The leading innovators in enterprise education and development were announced today with the release of Chief Learning Officer magazine's 2014 LearningElite. The finalists included in the prestigious list were singled out for creating and implementing exemplary workforce development practices that deliver measurable business value.
LearningElite, a peer-reviewed ranking and benchmarking program developed in collaboration with chief learning officers and senior workforce development practitioners, is widely recognized as the industry's most meaningful and comprehensive standard for effective L&D practices. The program utilizes best practices in evaluation to objectively assess both the scope and value of learning and development services and rank organizations based upon the execution and impact of these initiatives.
"Participating in the CLO LearningElite requires not only a tremendous commitment of time and effort but also enterprise-wide dedication to continuous improvement," said Norm Kamikow, president and editor in chief of Human Capital Media Group, which publishes Chief Learning Officer magazine. "This year, a record number of organizations accepted the challenge — a significant indication of the LearningElite's growing stature and importance. In just four years, it has become the industry's most valuable benchmarking tool and a widely acknowledged mark of distinction."
The LearningElite recognizes and ranks excellence using five key performance indicators: learning strategy, learning execution, learning impact, business performance results and leadership commitment. The ranked list of LearningElite organizations also is overlaid with a banding system (gold, silver and bronze) that provides context for performance relative to other LearningElite organizations and clarifies the maturity of elite and innovative practices based on data generated the previous three years.
From the record-breaking number of applications for 2014, 58 organizations emerged as LearningElite finalists. Their position in the rankings will be announced March 30 during a gala dinner preceding the opening of the Spring 2014 CLO Symposium at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, in Dana Point, Calif.
Two additional finalists, AT&T and General Mills, were named to the LearningElite Winner's Circle — a special designation reserved for returning elite organizations previously ranked No. 1.
"The LearningElite is more than just an opportunity for organizations to be recognized for outstanding outcomes in the field of learning and development," said Sarah Kimmel, director of research and advisory services for the Human Capital Media Group. "It applies sound science to evaluating learning initiatives and yields solid data that validates the impact of workforce learning on business performance. This strong statistical orientation allows enterprises to quantify their progress toward making strong workforce development a major competitive differentiator."
Organizations named to the 2014 Learning Elite will be featured in the June 2014 issue of Chief Learning Officer magazine. To view the finalist list, click here.
