Ron Garrow (August 2010)
Then: Senior Vice President and CLO, MasterCard Worldwide
Now: Global Executive for HR Plans and Programs, MasterCard Worldwide
Before joining MasterCard in 2010, Ron Garrow spent six years at Bank of America as the human resources executive for its chief financial officer and then as its chief learning officer. Prior to that, Garrow spent 19 years at Wachovia in various positions, his last role being chief learning officer. Garrow said his background in learning primed him to expand his role with the firm, which includes a role on MasterCard’s board.
Quote: “I started in learning — that was my platform — but as I grew, I noticed other critical factors that move the company forward, and I wanted to be part of those. It was never about where my job sat in the org-chart structure; it was always about where I could be making an impact [and] influencing the business the most.”
