Las Vegas, June 26 — The Human Capital Media (HCM) Group, a division of MediaTec Publishing Inc., publisher of Chief Learning Officer, Talent Management and Diversity Executive magazines, has announced its Talent Strategies 2012 conference will be held Feb. 27 – 28 at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in New Orleans.
Themed “Creating the Organization of the Future: Meeting Tomorrow’s Challenges Today,” the two-day conference will connect all of the elements of strategic human capital management through a cutting-edge program expected to be attended by 250 senior professionals.
“This is a new and exciting concept for us,” said Trey Smith, HCM director of event development. “Based on extensive research of magazine readers and past event attendees, we’ve built morning sessions filled with fascinating keynotes and panel discussions, followed by afternoons focused on attendees’ choice of four tracks: talent acquisition, employee development, workforce performance and talent strategy.”
Keynote speakers include:
- Don Tapscott, co-author of “Macrowikinomics: Rebooting Business and the World” and an international authority on the strategic impact technology has on innovation, marketing and talent.
- Stephen Miles, vice chairman of executive search firmHeidrick & Struggles, where he heads worldwide executive assessment and succession planning.
- Sylvia Ann Hewlett, president of theCenter for Work-Life Policy, author of “Winning the War for Talent in Emerging Markets: Why Women Are the Solution” and member of the World Economic Forum Council on Women’s Empowerment.

Sponsors of Talent Strategies 2012 will have an unparalleled opportunity to maximize their interaction and influence with today’s top human capital decision makers. In addition to networking with industry leaders, sponsors will be given the opportunity to host thought leadership workshops, participate in a provider solution showcase to highlight their products and services, and more.
“We are excited to host Talent Strategies 2012 in New Orleans,” said Norm Kamikow, president of MediaTec Publishing Inc. and editor in chief of the HCM Group. “It is an exciting city and the Ritz is the perfect setting for human capital management executives to gather.”
Approximately one month after the conference, HCM will offer the entire program on its industry-leading virtual event platform, HCMConventionCenter.com. “Augmenting the live event with the virtual edition enables attendees to view sessions they missed at the physical event,” added Kamikow. “The virtual component also allows others unable to attend the live event the ability to view sessions on a pay-per-use basis, and greatly enhances the exposure of event sponsors. We are seeing an uplift of three to four times the attendance of the live event.”
